Faithless!

Ah yes...long have i waited to go to a big concert in the uk and now its come and gone too quickly! We...Me, Stu, Iain, Ilias, Tristan and Rosie took a couple of days out and travelled down to Newcastle to see Faithless live in front of about 10 000 people or so, and a great time had we did.

After the bus trip down we checked into one of the local hostels (when we finally found it, after walking through rain, snow and sleet in directions unknown) and started to prepare for the night. A spot of food and drink shopping later it was alcohol drinking and fruit eating time...finally a good fruit market in the uk :)

We arrived unfashionably early and had to sit for a while to pass the time until the show began, the only problem was that the night before the Metroradio Arena had an icehockey game on and even though the floor was completely covered over it was still bloody freezing on ya butt! bloody freezing.

Calvin Harris played for a short while before the main show, they have a kind of a Presets sound about them if you know what the preses sound like (aussie group). Their (Calvin Harris) claim to fame at the moment is the song about being born in the 80's....the 80's. These guys were entertaining and good enough to get the crowd going.

So finally the curtains were pulled away to reveal the awesome setup behind the stage, the crowd went spastic and the show began. Being the great performers, faithless played their most famous and well known song (insomnia) just after the intro and from that moment on the crowd was in their hands until the close. The only problem is that i can't really put up any pictures that can describe the night very well...you have to see the videos to appreciate how amazing the light show and the involvement of the crowd really was. Here's a couple of the night that may help.
Well this is a multiple flying blown up condom situation we have here
Nice TV screens, there were more to the sides but we were too close to fit them all in a photo
The party was really going at this time of the night
This sums up what the true image of Faithless is for the people who listen to the lyrics, it's more like poetry
The day after we did actually get some of the best snow i've seen since living here. Here you can see Stu and Iain in the sleet

Well that's about it except to say that we got a live recording of the gig which was available 10 minutes after the show finished, quite cool we thought :)
