Stonehenge

Stupid blogger wouldn't let me put more than 2 pictures in one post! so onwards and upwards...

From Bath the tour was off to stonehenge. The land around stonehenge is owned by the army, so you see street signs saying 'tank crossing' and military aircraft flying about all the time. On the way to the stones we got a bit of a history talk on a few theories and some stories but that's a lot of writing for me to do so here's a picture of the place in the flesh (yes it does look just like all the pictures in the books and on the tele)

The rocks are a decent size as well and were carved out so they could fit together like lego pieces, pretty clever really. What you don't normally see are the burial mounds of the people who built it, the Beaker people or something along those lines, not the druids as some people say. Stonehenge was around quite a long time before the druids even came into power, they probably used the stone circles after the beaker people died out or were conquered etc... There are actually 100's of stone circles all across britian and also in the north of France...but stonehenge is the best so poo to them.

ps. no aeroplanes were blown up at Heathrow we are all still alive

PLEASE NOW LOOK BELOW THIS POST FOR THE FIRST PART OF THE TRIP!!!
